Hello. I wish you the warmest of welcomes for being here and invite you to get to know a little bit about me.
Dealing with life as an adult helped me to realize I was still holding on to negative beliefs that were created in my childhood. But it took traumatic events in my life for me to fully understand how we need help to make it through these difficult times.
The first event was the death of my beloved mother, who succumbed to cancer after a long and painful five year struggle. The grief and sadness I felt was overwhelming. Then two years later, I lost my precious infant daughter at just 6 weeks of age. My grief seemed insurmountable, it consumed me.
Many couples end up divorcing after the death of a child and this was the direction my husband and I were headed. I simply could not cope in the state of mind I was in. We knew we needed help if we wanted to stay together. It was with the help of a very special person, a truly caring and empathetic social worker who counseled us, that we both began to heal; and as we healed, so did our relationship.
I was so grateful for the support and healing that helped us through this time in our lives that I decided to change careers and get the education and training to be a clinical social worker. I wanted to give back and be able to help others suffering from seemingly insurmountable pain.
After beginning in the social work field, new changes were implemented through managed care plans and developed guidelines for client care where they were only allowed 3 to 5 sessions to deal with their issues. I felt that this was an injustice to my clients and my heart went out to them. How could anyone dealing with serious issues be expected to get well in a specific time frame, especially such a short one?
That was when I began to look into integrating other forms of therapies with my work so my clients could have more effective, long term resolutions for healing. I obtained certified training in EMDR, EFT, Clinical Hypnosis and Behavioral Kinesiology; and that is when the world of “energy” healing opened up for me.
I came across Dr. Nelson’s information on the Emotion Code a few years ago, but the timing wasn’t right in my life. A couple years later, a workshop was offered that was close enough for me to attend, so I did. The workshop seemed to offer more to people than all of what I was doing. I asked question after question, and all of the answers told me what I needed to hear to consider adding this to my tool box.
After the workshop, I was introduced to the Body Code with a private session. My mind knew this was the missing piece in helping my clients, and I took action right then to start my certification process. The beauty of the technique with the Emotion Code and the Body Code, is how easily and effectively it works to release the old emotional baggage and beliefs we have carried around all our lives – without ever having to relive any of the painful experiences.
We are all on this path called “Life” and each of us have our own lessons to learn. Our struggles become our strengths and some even blessings in disguise. None of us come into this world with an owner’s manual. Our parents did the best they could with what was available to them. The good news is that we have more tools in our tool box to build a better world.
As an Integrative Therapist, I have the luxury of choosing from a repertoire of skills and provide every client the modality of treatment that best works for them. I can honestly say that by adding the Emotion Code, the Body Code, and now the Belief Code; brings what you can achieve to a whole new level of healing. We all need a special “someone” to help us through our difficult times; and it would be my privilege to be that special “someone” for you.
Wishing you all the best life has to offer,
Joan Stein
It is my hope that you can see how passionate I am about my work and that I am committed to helping people become alive with joy, satisfaction and well-being. It is also a blessing that these tools can be used to work with pets and their owners for alternative remedies for behavioral issues.
